16 September 2022 – Basil Sparks

To help individuals take hold of life and truly live and to thrive in all they do!

I presently live in Cape Town, South Africa. I am married to Heidi and we have two adult children, Christopher and Kaitlyn. I grew up on a cattle farm, studied and worked as a civil engineer in the Eastern Cape (South Africa) and then moved to Johannesburg. From engineering I moved into pastoral work and have now worked, as the senior leader of a Church, in Durbanville, Cape Town. I have been here for the past 21 years. My MA (University of Pretoria) was to compare leadership in business and the social sectors. I then converted my thesis into a conversational leadership book (Journey: A Traveller’s Guide to Leadership). I have worked in various leadership environments and used my studies to train many individuals in the principles of leadership. I have a passion for excellence and love writing, mountain biking, working with my hands, gardening and being outdoors in nature.

Unshackled (http://unshackled.co.za) was written after being with friends who voiced some of the difficulties they were facing in life. Much of what they spoke of, I saw in myself. Their struggle had been my struggle. The heart behind Unshackled is to help individuals take hold of life and truly live and to thrive in all they do! Furthermore, I love African Proverbs so each chapter of Unshackled is connected to one or more of these beautiful African treasures.

Vrydag getuig Bossie Bosman, een van ons boetas.  Die kern gedagte tot sy getuienis is Jes. 55: 11.
So sal die woord wat uit My mond kom ook wees: dit sal nie onverrigter sake na My toe terugkeer nie, maar dit sal doen wat Ek gedoen wil hê en tot stand bring waarvoor Ek dit gestuur het.

Our journey and being part of God’s kingdom

We are a couple living in Kathmandu because we were called their by God. Took over a restaurant as par of our ministry and are using it as a foundation for BAM (Business as Mission). We would speak about our journey and being part of God kingdom purpose and plan and our identity.

Hoe God my gelei het tot op hierdie punt!

Shaun Fourie, stigter van Supreme Mindfulness, kom deel sy getuienis rondom wat in sy lewe gebeur het en die transformasie, met leefstyl gewoonte veranderinge, wat in sy lewe plaas gevind het. In Shaun se woorde: “Dit sal n eer wees om met ander my transformasie te kom deel en hoe God my gelei het tot op hierdie punt.”
